Come on admit it, don’t you think you’re a good guy. Trying to save the planet? Living the golden rule – “do unto others as you would like done unto yourself.” Don’t you believe that you’re trying to make a better world by your beliefs and dedication to renewable energy, simple living and low consumption? Wouldn’t everyone benefit from your philosophy of less is more? Well your belief system started back in the 50’s by a saddle draggin singing hero of the screen.  The Code of the West was Born.

Gene Autry’ s Cowboy Code

1. The cowboy must never shoot first, hit a smaller man, or take unfair advantage.
2. He must never go back on his word, or trust confided in him.
3. He must always tell the truth.
4. He must be gentle with children, the elderly, and animals.
5. He must not advocate nor posses racially or religiously intolerant ideas.
6. He must help people in distress.
7. He must be a good worker.
8. He must keep himself clean in thought, speech, action, and personal habits.
9. He must respect women, parents and his nations laws.
10. The cowboy is a patriot.

We know that these 10 rules are a little pure, but you can extrapolate to how they fit into today’s world - can’t you?
